Raleigh, NC, September 26, 2001 - Ateb, Inc. has been named to the 2001 North Carolina Technology Fast 50, a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in the state. Rankings are based on a five-year (1996-2000) percentage revenue growth.
Ateb's CEO Frank Sheppard credits the application of innovative technology with the company's 298 percent revenue growth over the past five years. Ateb's increase in revenues of 298 percent over the five-year period of 1996 to 2000 resulted in a 27 ranking overall in the 2001 North Carolina Technology Fast 50. The average revenue growth among the 50 companies comprising the 2001 North Carolina Fast 50 was 1,786 percent.
To qualify for the Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 1996 and $1,000,000 in 2000, must be public or private companies headquartered in North Carolina and be "technology companies" defined as companies that produce technology, manufacture a technology product, or devote a high percentage of effort to research and development of technology.
