University
of Michigan Hospital Chooses Ateb's Interactive Voice Response
Solution to Centralize Prescription Refills
Ateb's
Pharmacy Line To Service Hospital's Three Ambulatory Pharmacies
Raleigh,
NC, August 19, 2003 - Ateb, Inc., a market leader in pharmacy
solutions, announced today that the University of Michigan Hospital
will implement its Pharmacy Line solution to service its
three ambulatory pharmacies. Pharmacy Line, Ateb's Interactive
Voice Response (IVR) solution, will facilitate the processing
of all prescription refills in one location without having to
retrain patients to follow a new process. Patients will continue
to call the location closest to them, and the central IVR system
will automatically transfer refill orders to the appropriate site.
"With
more than 700 prescriptions per day, 40 percent of which are refills,
our patients really depend on the convenience of phoning in their
refill requests," said Alice Schuman, Business Manager in
the Department of Pharmacy Services at University of Michigan
Health System. "The integration of Pharmacy Line into our
existing dispensing system has allowed us to not only enhance
that convenience, but also our overall commitment to providing
the best service to our patients and their families."
Ateb
offers a comprehensive suite of solutions and services designed
to help hospital pharmacies lower operating costs, reduce delivery
errors and enhance customer service. Hospital pharmacies can implement
Ateb's solutions to dramatically reduce common inefficiencies associated
with manual dispensing, capturing and facilitating prescription
transactions. As a result, pharmacists are afforded more opportunity
to spend more time counseling patients.
Benefits of Ateb's solutions include:
- Increase in refills through 24-hour access to the pharmacy
- Enhanced customer service through increased pharmacist to
patient counseling
- Increased productivity through a reduction in in-bound pharmacy
calls
- Increased dispensing productivity and accuracy
- Ensured HIPAA compliance in all phases the prescription transaction
process
"We have been working with pharmacies to improve pharmacy workflow
for over 10 years and we have successfully leveraged that expertise
into the hospital space, specifically for ambulatory pharmacies,"
said Dennis DiVenuta, President and CEO at Ateb. "We are confident
that the University of Michigan will experience immediate results
from the enhanced efficiency provided by Ateb's centralized IVR
solutions, and expect our relationship to grow as we add new feature
sets to meet market demand."
